General Information
The purpose of dedication is to allow Christian parents to make a formal
commitment before family, congregation, and God that they choose to
raise
their children in a Christian home.
We dedicate children one Sunday each month.
The requirements to dedicate your child are:
1. The child is under the age of 6
2. You are a Christian parent
3. You have attended a Baby Dedication Class
Who do we dedicate?
Children-Birth through 5 years old
Why don’t we baptize?
We believe baptism is a choice to follow Jesus and must be made by the person
being baptized. Very young children do not yet make life choices.
Why dedicate a child?
It is an opportunity for Christian parents to bring their young children
before God and commit themselves to providing a Christian home and
training
for these children so that when they are mature enough to make decisions
they will choose God and salvation through Jesus. It is actually a parents’ commitment
to God, understanding their responsibility to their children before God.
How do you dedicate?
The process of dedication consists of parents (usually a group of 12)
bringing
their babies before family and friends to commit the child as
Christian parents
to the Lord. Our pastor prays over each child
individually and then those
attending the dedication join in prayer with
the families.
When do we dedicate children?
We dedicate children once a month after the 11:45 a.m. service
in the Chapel.
God Parents
Although we do not require God Parents, if you choose to have them
you may
have two God Parents standing on the stage with you.
How do I make arrangements to dedicate my child?
Call 408-979-3064 to sign up for the Parenting Class (first Wednesday of the month, 7:15-9pm) and to check the upcoming Baby Dedication Dates.
