What is a LifeGroup?

Cathedral of Faith LifeGroups are about friends sharing life together and helping each other grow in their faith. In a LifeGroup you can take a break from the busy demands of everyday life and invest in what is really important: your relationship with God and the people around you. Cathedral of Faith is known as a place of love, acceptance and compassion, but some people find it difficult to discover new friendships in a church of this size. LifeGroups are the solution. They offer the same encouraging Cathedral of Faith experience you find on the weekend, but in a smaller more personal setting. Groups are meeting across Silicon Valley. Most consist of 8-12 people and meet weekly or every other week for and hour and a half. Each group is led by a specially trained facilitator and host.

Why join a LifeGroup?

God never intended for us to live out our faith in isolation, in fact, the Bible describes quite the opposite. From the great Commandment, to love God and love one another, to the example of the early church, where we see that believers "continued to meet together in the temple courts... and... they broke bread in their homes, eating together with glad and sincere hearts" (Acts 2:46), we see that to fully experience life in Jesus includes sharing life with one another. LifeGroups are a great way to experience what God intended for living in Christian community.

How Do I Find a Group That's Right for Me?

That is where our LifeGroup, Group Finder web site can help. Our goal is to help you find a group that works for you. We have two types of groups:

  • In the Network LifeGroups – These are considered “Home Teams” or traditional home bible study groups.
  • Out of the Network LifeGroups – These are considered “Social Networking groups”, a small group of “Like People” sharing and connecting. They could be (home Mom’s meeting over coffee, or WorkLife lunch meetings or Car enthusiast).

We will stay with you until you get settled in a group that is a good match for you.The first step is to let us know of your interest in finding a group. In order to do that, please click on the "Group Finder" tab in middle of this page. There you will find pop down menu’s to help you find a LifeGroup type that’s right for you. Check mark the group or groups you are interested in and submit from the lower right corner of the page. Fill in all the information (This is NOT shared with any outside sources). We want to do everything we can to help you experience the opportunities for encouragement, friendship and spiritual growth that is available through joining a LifeGroup.
