Wednesday’s Devotional: Pray About It
When Deborah called Barak to lead the army, he was willing—but afraid. He told Deborah, “If you go with me, I will go.” He needed someone to stand with him as he stepped into what God had called him to do.
That is a deeply human moment. Many of us know what it feels like to have faith and fear at the same time. We want to obey God, but we feel nervous. We want to move forward, but we wonder if we have what it takes. We know the next step, but we do not want to take it alone.
The good news is that God is not offended by our honest fears. He meets us in them. Prayer is the place where we bring our fears into the presence of a faithful God. Prayer does not always remove the battle, but it reminds us we are not facing the battle alone.
Today, bring your fear to God. Name it honestly. Ask Him for courage. Ask Him to send the right people to walk with you. And ask Him to make you the kind of person who helps others find courage too.
God is with you. God is for you. You can rise up.
Scripture: Psalm 56:3
“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Pray About It:
Prayer:
Lord, when I feel afraid, help me trust You. Give me courage to rise up and take the next step. Remind me that I am not alone. Surround me with people who strengthen my faith, and use me to encourage others too. Amen.
