Saturday's Devotional: Get Ready

As we look toward worship this weekend, take time to prepare your heart. The pace of life can be busy, and it is easy to rush into church distracted, tired, or preoccupied. But God has something for you. He wants to speak, strengthen, correct, comfort, and guide.

The story of Deborah reminds us that God is always inviting His people into courage. But courage begins with listening. Before Deborah rose up, she heard from God. Before we step into what God is calling us to do, we need to make room for His voice.

Today, slow down for a few moments. Pray for the service. Pray for the message. Pray for the worship. Pray for the people who will walk through the doors carrying burdens no one else can see. Pray for your own heart to be open and ready.

And consider inviting someone to join you. You never know what one invitation could mean in someone’s life. A friend, neighbor, coworker, or family member may be waiting for encouragement, hope, and a fresh reminder that God is not finished with them.

Come expectant. Come ready. Come believing that God still speaks and still calls His people to rise up.

Scripture: Isaiah 40:31
“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.”

Get ready:
  1. What do you need from God as you prepare for worship this weekend?
  2. How can you make space today to listen for His voice?
  3. Who could you invite to church or encourage to watch online?
